UTFA Waters Bankside Clearing
A great few hours were spent on the upper river by TACA and volunteer members from the Upper Teign Fishing Association. In total, eight people assembled to help clear sections of the river. A big thank you to the member who travelled down from Weston-super-Mare to give his time and help out!
As before, the morning was focussed on light coppicing and removal of debris left snagged up during recent spates. It’s amazing what can be achieved in a few hours with many hands. The river, having fined down after the recent rain is looking in excellent condition and we do hope this carries forward into a healthy 2025 fishing season.
Volunteers also helped out Chagford Swimming Pool by clearing a culvert and a section of the leat that feeds it. Unfortunately, this culvert blocked due to debris washing down in a recent storm causing some local flooding with the flood waters getting into the pool. It’s always a pleasure to be helping the wider community with our efforts.
As always, thanks to all those involved & to Harry Chance for organising the morning. There’s nothing like giving back some sweat equity on a Sunday morning - Keep an eye on the Calendar for any future scheduled events… we’ll let you know!
